After spending a few nights on the hook somewhere, or jostling for dock space at a park that only holds four boats and has no water or shower, I look forward to my guaranteed reservation.

Islands Marine Center, (360) 468-3377, is a good alternative to Lopez Islander. They're less expensive and the staff is friendlier. Also quieter, the music from the restaurant at the Islander can get pretty loud on the weekend. I've spent the last two 4th of July's at IMC and highly recommend them.
